Big Picture
The activation Up, Up and Away at The Andy Warhol Museum, which ran April 9 to June 1, was inspired by Warhol’s Wallpaper & Clouds show at the Castelli Gallery in April 1966. At the Castelli, one gallery was covered in pink and yellow Cow wallpaper, while another contained Warhol’s new Silver Clouds floating sculptures. During the opening reception, Warhol reportedly opened a window and released one of the Silver Clouds, saying, “That would be the end of painting.”
