Why Choose Carnegie Museums

At Carnegie Museums, we believe our people are our greatest strength. To support a thriving, innovative workplace, we invest in your growth.

Learning & Development

We offer regular opportunities for employees to connect virtually or in-person for workshops, lectures, or training sessions to support their professional growth.

For employees in supervisory positions, we offer specialized programming to support the growth of dynamic leaders, including our annual touchstone, Carnegie Museums Leadership Conference. Hosted at one of our three unique sites, the Leadership Conference brings together new and seasoned leaders from across the organization for a day of workshops, networking, and collaboration.

"I truly love that we as an organization are prioritizing the professional development of our leadership." "Fun, engaging, fast-paced sessions. Plus, a wonderful opportunity to meet and network with colleagues from across all the museums." "It was an invaluable opportunity to network with colleagues across the organization and learn from each other." "The content was educational, and environment was comfortable." "I loved learning from my peers. We have so many talented employees. I loved getting to talk to people from other parts of the museum." "It was a great range of applicable topics, from the big picture to day-to-day."

Mentorship Program

Carnegie Museums Mentorship Program is focused on cultivating internal talent and investing in the next generation of museum leadership. This annual program pairs employees across specializations and components to promote focused development through personal relationships.

"I so easily get bogged down in my day to day, tunnel vision. This program forces me get beyond that at every meeting, coffee chat, guest lecture and PD." "My mentor was an absolutely perfect match for me. She really took the time to listen to me and help me curate an action plan to better my career." "I was so thrilled with my match. We had a great working relationship and built a ton of trust." "Even as the mentor and a definite veteran of Carnegie Museums, I have so much to learn about our museums in part, as a whole and part of ever widening circles of community." "My mentor was great! He was very attentive and supportive of me and my goals. He seemed invested in me as a person." "I feel more connected to the work I'm doing at the museums and feel a deeper sense of confidence, collaboration, and professional impact."
