Cuisine and Culture in the Hudson River Valley

Trip Dates: October 25-November 1, 2019

See the last leaves of autumn in all their colorful splendor on a sojourn north to the Hudson River Valley. Traverse the region from Upper Hudson to Mid-Hudson to Lower Hudson, following the winding roads through Victorian cottages, picturesque farms, old-money mansions, and sprawling landscapes. Visit the homes of some of the Hudson River Valley’s most famous residents, including Kykuit, the Rockefeller Estate, Springwood Estate, the home of Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Val-Kill, Eleanor Roosevelt’s cottage. Delve into the movement of the Hudson River School, a mid-19th-century American art group influenced by Romanticism and the surrounding landscape, with visits to Cedar Grove Estate and Olana State Historic Site. No journey to this region is complete without a visit to The Culinary Institute of America and a taste of the local cuisine.
