The Glory of Greece: The Ancient and The Modern

Join Raymond Ryan, Curator of The Heinz Architectural Center at Carnegie Museum of Art, and explore the glory that is Greece, ancient and modern. In Athens, one of the world’s oldest cities, visit seminal sites for Western culture, as well as bold new institutions and collections of vanguard art. Then relax on the island of Hydra, one of the most beautiful of all Greek islands, and a haven for contemporary cultural figures like Leonard Cohen and Brice Marden. We will attend the opening of the Deste Foundation’s 2019 summer exhibition, an annual installation in a former slaughterhouse by a major international artist.
