Five Year Celebration

Can you believe it? Right there on the waterfront, The Andy Warhol Museum is already five years old. Considering all of the wild ones who have strolled through its doors including U2, Fran Dresher, Joan Rivers and even Mick Jagger, the place is still standing, and developing a patina that is part Pittsburgh and part Fantasyland, and all glamour and drama and ultimately, dynamically artistic. Amy Vanderbilt would have us fill the joint with wooden spoons and silver utensils in celebration. However, for a true Warholian occasion, the Museum staff has chosen to rehang the first floor of the Sandusky Street building better to reflect what the environment of an Andy Factory was truly like.  Sure there will be a big birthday cake, sure the Mayor will drop by, but how about 150 Harley Davidson motorcyclists roaring round the former Volkwein Building in a high octane cavalcade in honor of Mr. Warhol. Watch for the unveiling of a terrific new denizen to the Warhol Family. Come on down and while you are at it...wear leather!!!!
