Art Returns from Overseas Tour

Works from the museum’s permanent collection have recently returned to Pittsburgh after a nearly year-long tour to museums in Japan and Brazil. Upon the return of these works, the permanent collection was reinstalled and now includes a number of works that previously were not on view.

Works by this friend and associate of Andy Warhol’s include a series of recent paintings of poets including Allen Ginsberg, René Ricard and Robert Creeley.

Edward Wallowitch: Photographs

FEBRUARY 19–APRIL 13 Andy Warhol was the subject of many of Wallowitch’s photographs, and Warhol also used Wallowitch’s photographs as subjects for many of his own works. This exhibition features 30–40 photographs of Warhol as well as source photos and the Warhol images based on them.

Kronk! Selections from the Billy Name Collection

MARCH 19–JUNE 2
This exhibition includes numerous examples of early 1960s reprographs by Factory photographer Billy Name and others. Drawings and Archival Material Every six months, a new selection of Warhol drawings and archival material is displayed in the museum. Drawings include assignments from Warhol’s student years at Carnegie Tech (now Carnegie Mellon University), his award-winning commercial illustrations, and masterful line drawings from his sketchbooks. The work is rotated to prevent damage by over-exposure to light.
