BEDAZZLED: Celebrating the Diamond Anniversary of the Carnegie Trees
Through Jan. 10, 2022
Since 1961, the annual installation and decoration of the Carnegie Trees has kicked off the holiday season at Carnegie Museum of Art. Organized every year by the Women’s Committee of Carnegie Museum of Art, this holiday happening has delighted visitors for decades. The Hall of Architecture will be transformed into a winter-wonderland featuring five soaring Fraser Fir trees will be magnificently lit and adorned with hand-made ornaments.

Neapolitan presepio
Through Jan. 10, 2022
This season, encounter the Neapolitan Presepio as never before, situated in Carnegie Museum of Art’s galleries. For the first time, this cherished fixture will be exhibited in proximity to paintings and sculptures in the collection, contextualizing the artwork. Sharing a gallery with Pre-Raphaelite masterpieces such as The Nativity and The King and the Shepherd by Sir Edward Coley Burne-Jones, visitors will be able to enjoy and reflect on the Presepio in an inspiring and new context. .

Friends & Family Photo Studio
Saturdays and Sundays, Nov. 20–Dec. 1, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Make Carnegie Museum of Art the backdrop for your holiday photo! Gather friends, family, loved ones, workmates, neighbors, or yourself for a portrait taken by a professional with a selection of backgrounds within the many beautiful spaces and places in the museum.

Gift-Making Workshop
Saturdays and Sundays, Nov. 27–Dec. 19, 10:30 a.m.–1 p.m.
Is there a better gift than one handmade? Join our artist educators for gift-making workshops in the Hall of Architecture and create something unique for yourself or loved ones inspired by the artworks in our collection! This workshop will include admission to the museum and all the gift-making materials you need, as well as hot chocolate and holiday cookies from Café Carnegie.

Out of Office Party
Thursdays, Dec. 9 & 16, 6–9 p.m.
It’s an office party mixer to remember, and the location is Carnegie Museum of Art! Ditch the ugly sweater and awkward office party moment and bring yourself, or your whole office, to the museum!

Art Chat: Neapolitan presepio

Experience the Neapolitan presepio through the eyes of Neapolitan artisans and collectors during a drop-in Art Chat with one of our esteemed docents. Art Chats are available on a drop-in basis and will take place in the galleries.

Nature Crawl (21+)
Dec. 3, 7–10 p.m.
Join friendly Carnegie Museum of Natural History staff on a 21+ self-guided crawl through some of the museum’s exhibitions. Explore museum spaces like you’ve never seen them before, including new drop-in style activities like chats with scientists, flashlight tours, a scavenger hunt, animal meet-and-greets, and more. All tickets include a drink purchase from the bar.

Super Science Saturday: Holidays Around the World
Dec. 18, 12–4 p.m.
Explore holiday traditions from around the world with Jólakötturinn (Jóla for short), the Icelandic Yule Cat. Solve Jóla’s riddles on a scavenger hunt to earn goodies, learn how to play dreidel, and enjoy a memorable holiday afternoon at the museum.
